We go weak in the knees for the miraculously light-enough-to-still-be-frisky croque monsieur sandwich, and all those wines by the 1/4, 1/2, or full Liter only enchance the charm of his Cheshire cat grin. Well spare your blushes… in France, as in the rest of the metric world it’s a litre - not a liter (that’s what cats have, miaow!).
And if you like a dark blush - look out for this year’s Beaujolais Nouveau, it’s promising to be very good. If you manage to find some, don’t tell the chefs… there won’t be much around
